{"id":98926,"date":"2025-02-10T11:17:30","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T10:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?p=98926"},"modified":"2025-02-10T11:18:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T10:18:27","slug":"barrier-paper-for-food-packaging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/en\/barrierepapier-fuer-lebensmittelverpackungen\/","title":{"rendered":"New barrier paper for hot and cold seal applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text\"><strong>With the Thinbarrier 302, the Austrian manufacturer Delfort is introducing a high-performance barrier paper for heat-sealing and cold-sealing applications for flexible food packaging. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Target groups include producers of frozen and chilled foods, confectionery and sugar confectionery, chocolate bars and cereals. \u201eOur new packaging paper weighs just over 60 grams and <strong>is therefore currently one of the lightest barrier securities on the market<\/strong>\u201c, says Peter Hackl, Head of Delfort's Packaging Division. The Thinbarrier 302 can be disposed of in waste paper and has a very good CEPI recycling score.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"text\">\u201eThanks to a combined oxygen, water vapour and grease barrier, the paper achieves the values of standard plastic films and is thin and light at the same time. A water vapour barrier of less than 10 grams per square metre\/day prevents moisture from penetrating the packaging. \u201eThis is important for dry snacks, for example, as they react very sensitively to fluctuations in humidity.\u201c Conversely <strong>also prevents moisture loss from the food,<\/strong> Texture and freshness are retained.
