Riese & M\u00fcller is the first manufacturer in the bicycle industry to use reusable packaging as standard for shipping e-bikes. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After successful test runs with over 90 dealers, series production is now starting with more than 1000 dealers in Europe. The BikeBox of the Circular Logistics GmbH, P\u00f6cking<\/strong>, The new product is made from 60 per cent recycled polypropylene (PP) and can be reused up to 30 times.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe BikeBox for e-bikes is a flagship project for sustainable shipping and the Europe-wide roll-out is a real pioneering achievement by our logistics department. We don't want to remain the only manufacturer to use reusable boxes for shipping.\u201c<\/p>\n

Advantages of the BikeBox<\/h3>\n

The BikeBox<\/strong> offers numerous advantages over conventional packaging:<\/p>

  • Reduction of over 70 % CO2<\/strong> and up to 210 kg cardboard packaging<\/strong> per box over the entire life cycle<\/li>\n
  • More resistant<\/strong> as a cardboard box, improves the protection of bicycles against transport damage<\/li>\n
  • Weather resistant<\/strong>, so that it can also be stored outdoors<\/li>\n
  • Safe handling<\/strong>, as no cutting or shredding of cardboard is necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After delivery, the Foldable BikeBox<\/strong> returned by the dealer, checked and used again. According to Riese & M\u00fcller, at the end of the usage phase, the box is Fully recyclable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The BikeBox is now free of charge as standard shipping<\/strong> for daily orders from Riese & M\u00fcller dealers. Shipping in conventional cardboard packaging is still possible, but only for an additional charge, the company concludes.<\/p>\n
