Following successful market tests, the Mannheim-based start-up CU Mehrweg is taking the next step in establishing the new reusable industry standard: together with Seeberger, four products are being offered in reusable plastic packaging as part of a pilot project at REWE S\u00fcdwest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The test in 18 selected REWE S\u00fcdwest stores is intended to provide valuable data on consumer acceptance and on the potential of reusable systems<\/strong> in the product category.<\/p>\n

Consumers can still buy the Seeberger products \u201eCashews, the Genuss-Mix, Nuts'n'Berries and the Banana Chips\u201c. buy until 16 May in the test markets<\/strong> - packaged in reusable returnable cups, which can later be returned via the existing deposit machines.<\/p>

In contrast to unpacked stations, filling takes place directly in production. CU Mehrweg coordinates the Return logistics, cleaning and quality control. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Lightweight and durable: reusable plastic solutions<\/h2>\n

Compared to other materials, plastic offers decisive advantages for an efficient reusable system for many product groups. The Lightweight, robust and shatterproof material<\/strong> is ideal for daily use and repeated filling. The space-saving stackability reduces transport costs and the CO2 footprint. The Optional sealing film ensures product protection<\/strong> for sensitive products such as nuts.<\/p>\n

Isolated solutions inefficient in the long term<\/h2>\n

Seeberger and CU Mehrweg are pursuing a clear vision: A standardised reusable system for the entire food retail sector.<\/strong> Individual stand-alone solutions for individual brands or retail chains prove to be inefficient in the long term. CU Mehrweg offers an industry-wide compatible system that fulfils the requirements of producers, retailers and consumers alike. At the same time, the packaging portfolio is being continuously expanded with different shapes, sizes and materials to cover the requirements of a wide range of product groups.<\/p>\n
