XSYS is launching a new generation of press-specific flexo adapters with Rotec Core X. The carbon fibre adapter family is designed to help flexographic printers achieve maximum printing performance, productivity and process stability through press-specific engineering.
The Rotec Core X adapter series was developed from intensive testing and cooperation with leading flexographic printing press manufacturers. XSYS carried out over 40 prototype designs in OEM technology centres and at customer sites to ensure that the adapters are optimally matched to the dynamic characteristics of the respective printing press. These tests showed that adapter performance depends heavily on the specific dynamics of the printing presses, including their vibration behaviour and mechanical properties.
The result of this research work is a two-stage product concept: The Rotec Core X Ultra adapter series offers press-specific versions for selected machine platforms. These adapters feature a tailored carbon-fibre architecture and a specially developed internal construction that optimises rigidity and flexibility. This enables lower contact pressure settings and extends plate life by up to 10 per cent.
Expansion of printing capabilities
Alongside the Ultra series, the Rotec Core X Pro adapter offers a high-performance alternative for all major press platforms. It combines advanced carbon fibre construction with integrated bounce reduction technology, providing a balanced solution for printers seeking improved print stability and good value for money.
These adapters were validated through direct testing with OEM partners. Lukáš Skalický, R&D Manager at SOMA, emphasised the value of the collaboration: „Working with XSYS has shown how valuable it is to validate adapter development directly on the printing press.“
Collaboration with OEMs
XSYS plans to continuously develop the Core X platform through further cooperation with OEM manufacturers. The aim is to evaluate the adapter behaviour on different press architectures and to expand the range of press-specific solutions for flexographic printers.
