Printer for serialisation and batch labelling

Serialisation printing technologies must keep pace with the high belt speeds in the pharmaceutical industry and at the same time produce a very legible and durable print. The inkjet printers of the Markoprint printer family from Bluhm with thermal inkjet printing technology can achieve print speeds of up to 240 m/min at a resolution of 300 dpi. The printers can be used for all common Track&Trace concepts. It is possible to switch dynamically between Pharmacy Product Number (PPN) and GS1 code. The printers are controlled via XML or control codes. The printers also independently and reliably generate randomised Serial numbers.

At ACHEMA, Bluhm will be showcasing the Markoprint high-performance print controller, among other products X4JET plus touch, which can centrally control the printing technologies of four different ink manufacturers and thus simultaneously label primary and secondary packaging. In addition Print heads with special features will be on show: In addition to the ability to replace cartridges during operation (non-stop printing) and the automatic closing of the printhead during production breaks (shutter printhead), this includes, for example, IP protection class 65 for use in wet-cleaned production environments (IP-JET).

Equal Two new inks Markoprint has a new ink for its print heads in its programme: In addition to a highly pigmented, yellow solvent ink, whose print image offers a strong contrast to dark surfaces, a UV-curing ink is now also available that adheres reliably to practically any surface. Both inks have very good properties in terms of open time, curing and opacity.

The continuous inkjet process is also suitable for batch labelling to ensure the traceability of chemical and pharmaceutical products. The latest device in this product group is the Linx 8900, which prints up to three lines on plastic, metal, glass or lacquered cardboard. With many practical functions and features such as long print head cleaning and maintenance intervals, touchscreen and production throughput display, it increases production time and makes work easier.

Labellers implement counterfeit protection

The Tamper Evident Labeller from Bluhm Systeme realises the tamper protection of pharmaceutical packaging required by the Falsified Medicines Directive 2011/62/EU. The GMP-compliant labeller seals up to 130 folding boxes per minute with special tamper-proof sealing labels. Its compact dimensions make it possible to integrate the labeller into complete checkweighing and labelling systems. The device is therefore of particular interest to system integrators. A stand-alone solution is also planned for the medium term.

Labelling with barcode and/or shipping labels is carried out by high-performance labellers such as the Legi-Air systems: The Legi-Air 6000 labels various tall cartons with above-average speed and precision at 2,250 cycles per hour. With the Legi-Air 4050 P Bluhm Systeme is presenting a modular pallet labeller for labelling at a standstill or in throughfeed without stopping the pallet. The system offers many advantages in terms of speed, safety, application options, size and ease of servicing.
