On 1 July 1972, MR Etikettiertechnik was founded in Enger in East Westphalia, a region with numerous large meat and sausage producers. The first development of the „start-up“ at the time was a cross web labeller. Its primary task: the efficient, automated and therefore high-performance labelling of a wide variety of meat and sausage products.

In the course of the following years, in addition to the tried and tested cross web labelling additionally the product group of conveyor belt labellers, which, with its high-performance models, has also contributed to an increase in efficiency, process reliability and labelling accuracy in a wide range of applications.

MR becomes Multivac

When the company founders wanted to retire from the business in 1993, the Multivac came into play. The long-standing, close relationships made the decision easier - MR Etikettiertechnik became part of the Multivac Group. However, the integration of the company was not really recognised by the public until 2010, when renamed Multivac Marking & Inspection in the course of the renaming of MR Etikettiertechnik was.

Today, the subsidiary is an agile solution provider for labelling, printing and inspection systems. The key data: Annual turnover of almost 50 million euros, 257 employees and a close-knit global service and sales network. As Managing Directors, Karsten Strothmann (Executive Vice President Sales) and Dr Hendrik Frank (Executive Vice President Technics) are setting the course for future, stable growth in the established target markets and also for the development of new customer potential worldwide.

The majority of the labelling and inspection systems are used in Multivac's packaging lines. For example, all components are optimally integrated into the line and can be conveniently and safely operated via a central terminal.

In addition, the company develops and manufactures special labelling solutions that are independent of Multivac packaging machines. are. These include, for example, the labeller for sealing package inserts or mailings with a label as well as conveyor belt labellers behind filling and sealing machines for cups or jars.

Market trends - both a challenge and an opportunity
