9th Glass Trend Day with a retail focus: „Packaged in glass - successfully marketed“

The ninth Glass Trend Day will take place on 11 June 2015 under the motto: „Packaged in glass - successfully marketed“. As every year, the Glass Packaging Action Forum invites representatives and decision-makers from the bottling food and beverage industry and the retail sector.

On 11 June 2015, the ninth Glass Trend Day will take place in Frankfurt am Main under this year's motto: „Packaged in glass - successfully marketed“. As every year, the Glass Packaging Action Forum invites representatives and decision-makers from the bottling food and beverage industry and the retail sector.

Top-class speakers will give their presentations between 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., focussing on retail and its interests - including packaging. Retail experts Professor Dr Thomas Roeb from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and Professor Dr Arnold Weissman from the Weissman Group, as well as futurologist Dr David Bosshart from the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, will speak on the topic of packaging. theoretical background and shed light on how retail is currently developing, what tomorrow's markets will demand and what the concepts of the future will be.

Practical

The programme will be supplemented by practical examples from well-known companies from the retail, food and beverage sectors. In keeping with the retail theme, Dieter Hieber, owner of Hieber's Frische Center KG, will report on how food retailers can offer their customers a Added value offers. Paolo Dell'Antonio, Member and Spokesman of the Management Board of Mast-Jägermeister SE, will explain why the bottle is important for the success of the Jägermeister brand. Finally, Marianne Muller from the EU Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment will provide a political insight. In her presentation in English, she will explain the challenges that the EU-packaging policy in the future.

During the panel discussion, Dr David Bosshart, Dieter Hieber and Dr Johann Overath will discuss how the packaging requirements of consumers and manufacturers contrast with the interests of retailers.

New category at the „Product Innovation in Glass“: the Audience Award

For the second time, the „Product Innovation in Glass“ award will also be presented as part of the Glass Trend Day. An independent jury of experts will select two winners in the „Beverages“ and „Food“ categories. On the afternoon of Trend Day Glass, jury member Andrej Kupetz, Managing Director of the German Design Council, will present three nominees in each of the two categories. New this year is the „Audience Award“, which will be presented by the participants of Trendtag Glas. The favourites from the six nominees can be chosen by means of a live vote at Trendtag Glas. In the evening, the three winners will be announced and the three trophies presented at the Druckwasserwerk restaurant.

This year's Trend Day Glass will be hosted by the experienced journalist and TV presenter Sandra Berndt. She will host both the Glass Trend Day and the awards ceremony in the evening at the Druckwasserwerk.
