Eckhard Bluhm founded Bluhm Systeme in 1968 at the age of 29 as a one-man business and is still Managing Director of Bluhm Systeme GmbH, Rheinbreitbach.
In 2010, he received the Rhineland-Palatinate Business Medal for his services. Eckhard Bluhm was honoured as a personality who has built up a very successful business enterprise in an exemplary manner and has also rendered great services to the economy and the region through his social commitment.
The entrepreneurial family also founded the Bluhm Fund together with friends and employees. This non-profit organisation provides unbureaucratic help to those in need.
pj: Mr Bluhm, what is the current focus of your company?
Eckhard Bluhm: The focus is on the consistent Expansion of our market positionn the German-speaking region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and the consolidation of all foreign activities, whether subsidiaries or sales partners in Europe, Asia and North America.
pj: What particular challenges did you face last year?
Eckhard Bluhm: The focus was on the processing of very large orders (over ten million euros) with worldwide service calls by our technicians to install the systems on site and train the operators at the same time. Another focus was on the Further development of system solutions in the labelling sector, which will be presented at this year's interpack.
pj: How do you assess the economic situation?
Eckhard Bluhm: We are confident that the positive trend of recent years is set to continue, and double-digit growth rates are certainly conceivable. Our product developments in the labelling sector can also be marketed particularly successfully beyond the borders of Europe.
pj: What effects do you expect for your company?
Eckhard Bluhm: We own a Positive basic attitude business development in the coming years. We will therefore not be unsettled by one political development or another.
pj: What do you see as the most important tasks and trends in the industry?
Eckhard Bluhm: As before, the Receivables from customers highest priority. Our aim is to fulfil them and offer hardware and software solutions that are tailored to the respective company. The Networking of process sequences an increasingly important task: keyword Industry 4.0! The Bluhm Weber Group has already focussed strongly on this in recent years.
