Mondi and ZARELO present recyclable paper packaging for firelighters that combines product protection with automation and recyclability.
Mondi and ZARELO have jointly developed a new paper-based packaging solution for barbecue and fireplace lighters. The packaging consists of Mondi's re/cycle FunctionalBarrier Paper 95/5, which according to the company is moisture-resistant and can be processed in existing paper recycling streams. .
By switching from cardboard to flexible paper packaging, ZARELO was able to automate its filling process and, according to the company, increase efficiency and expand its market access. According to the company, the packaging runs smoothly on the vertical filling line without the need for additional materials such as adhesive.
In addition to product protection, the solution should also contribute to visibility at the point of sale and is part of the two companies' joint commitment to recyclable packaging concepts.
