German Pavilion shows vision of a sustainable, circular society
„Designing Future Society for Our Lives“ - this is the motto under which the countries of the world will meet at the Expo in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October 2025 to discuss how the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved. The circular economy takes centre stage at the German Pavilion (Circular Economy), which aims to close material cycles holistically and radically reduce resource consumption.

The German Pavilion invites you to do so, Thinking together about circular solutions: What will cities of the future look like? How will Germany become emission-free? What role will digital technologies play? And how does energy supply work in a circular economy? The pavilion will showcase best-practice innovations „made in Germany“, how the vision of a sustainable, circular society can be realised.
Hovering in the centre of the Circular Economy room a giant mobile made of 60 glowing, amorphous spheres, which slowly rotate above the visitors' heads. Each sphere represents a sector - construction, chemicals, mobility, lifestyle, food and personal care - and symbolises a circular product or innovation.

Underneath the mobile is a central media table where over 30 circular products and innovations from Germany will be presented. Interaction with the table makes it possible to delve deeper into the cosmos of the circular economy. Six interaction areas are arranged around the table, where visitors can individually explore the products on display.
The Combination of real and digital staging creates a comprehensive picture of the possibilities of the circular economy, conveying the innovative strength and forward-looking solutions from Germany.
On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Koelnmesse GmbH is responsible for the organisation and operation of the German Pavilion.
