Papacks, ICE Industrial Services and Inmaco Solutions have put the new Model S10 production line into operation at Gigafactory Arnstadt.
The system is regarded as a technological milestone for fibre-based packaging: For the first time, it enables design-independent mass production of bottles, tubes, containers and other hollow bodies - and is thus positioning itself as a serious alternative to plastic.
The fully automated production line starts with an annual capacity of up to 10 million units and is modularly scalable up to 100 million. The technology thus addresses the increasing demand for PPWR-compliant solutions and opens up new opportunities for FMCG manufacturers in sustainable packaging development, according to the statement.
New benchmark for moulded fibre technologies
While existing fibre casting approaches are usually limited to simple geometries or small series, the Model S10 sets new standards:
- Parallel production of different moulds
- High reproducibility and industrial cycle times
- Overcoming previous physical limitations, such as barriers and dimensional stability
- Turnkey solution including robotics and material preparation
The system has been technically validated and is aimed in particular at companies in the cosmetics, food and food supplements sectors, as well as bottlers with clear ESG objectives.
