Schwartau Extra jam has been available with a new recipe since July 2017. To match this, the previous jar mould has been replaced and given a new design.
On the outside, Schwartau Extra's previous glass mould has been given a modern, minimalist look and boasts a harmonious shape with sophisticated details. A simple label Naturalness emphasise - in line with the new recipe.

Sebastian Schaeffer, Managing Director of Schwartauer Werke, explains: „The familiar X-glass - the trademark of Schwartau Extra since 1969 - is giving way to a modern design: the new, Organic glass mould is reminiscent of preserving jars, which fine leaf embossing on the lower edge of the glass ensures higher Valuet and Pleasant feel. The new recipe is also reflected on the label with the claim „Naturally delicious“ and more natural fruit illustrations.“
In future, the recipe will do without glucose syrup and citric acid, which have been replaced by household sugar and natural lemon juice concentrate, as well as selected fruits and pectin obtained from fruits. The New reduced list of ingredients with the four components fruit, household sugar, lemon juice concentrate and pectin from fruit should, according to the company, leave plenty of room for the essentials: the flavour.
Step by step, glucose and citric acid will also be replaced in all other Schwartau fruit spread recipes. And the new design will also be used for many other Schwartau products in the future.
