Machine vision stand brings experts and users together

The VDMA's „Machine Vision“ specialist department is taking part in „SPS IPC Drives 2017“ with a joint stand. Eight companies will be presenting machine vision components there. A new feature is the „Vision Expert Huddles“ for dialogue between experts and users.

The VDMA's „Machine Vision“ specialist department is taking part in „SPS IPC Drives 2017“ with a joint stand. Eight companies will be presenting machine vision components there. A new feature is the „Vision Expert Huddles“ for dialogue between experts and users. There will also be a panel discussion in the VDMA Forum.

Eight companies present themselves at the Joint stand, with which the specialised department „Industrial Image processing“ of the VDMA at the „SPS IPC Drives“ from 28 to 30 November 2017 in Nuremberg will be represented. „Trade visitors will find the entire range of machine vision components on our joint stand,“ says Anne Wendel, head of the VDMA's specialised department. „Becom Bluetechnix GmbH“, „iiM AG“, „MVTec Software GmbH“, Rauscher GmbH, „Silicon Software GmbH“, „The Imaging Source Europe GmbH“, SVS-Vistek GmbH and „MBJ Imaging GmbH“ will be represented. According to Wendel, these companies cover the entire spectrum of image processing components - from Software, Optics and Lighting about „Frame Grabber“ and Sensors up to Cameras. There is also a lounge at the „Vision“ machine vision trade fair.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 28 and 29 November 2017, the joint stand will feature the „Vision Expert Huddles“ will be a real première. From 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., experts from the participating companies will be available for discussions after a short introductory presentation. Four subject areas will be on offer: On Tuesday, various half-hour blocks in the morning will focus on „Automation & Machine Vision“, then from midday at „Embedded Vision“. „Vision sensors & intelligent Cameras“ in the morning and „Machine Vision“ in the afternoon are the topics on Wednesday.

„Are customisable sensors and image processing systems the answer to Industry 4.0?“ Five experts address this question at a Panel discussion, offered by the „Machine Vision“ specialist department on Wednesday, 29 November 2017, from 3 pm at the VDMA Forum in Hall 3, Stand 668. Company representatives from Baumer Optronic, Sick, Stemmer, MVTec Software and Silicon Software will be taking part in the discussion.

Sales in the machine vision industry rise sharply

The machine vision industry is doing well. This is suggested by figures published by the VDMA. Turnover increased by nine per cent in 2016. A record total of 2.2 billion euros was achieved. Growth was driven by exports, which increased by 14 per cent. Domestic sales only grew by three per cent. According to VDMA estimates, things are looking even better for the current year. Initially, the association assumed growth of ten per cent. This forecast has been revised upwards. Turnover of 2.6 million euros is now expected, which would correspond to a whopping 18 per cent increase[/infotext].
