Founded back in 1954, colordruck Baiersbronn today supplies a comprehensive range of innovative, sophisticated packaging solutions of the highest quality, functionality and cost-effectiveness.

With state-of-the-art technologies, the distinctive expertise of more than 250 qualified employees and a responsible approach to people and the environment, the family business has developed into a trend-setting packaging service provider.

Wilhelm Mack, the founder and managing partner of colordruck Baiersbronn W. Mack GmbH & Co. KG, set the course very early on in the direction of Packaging printing. Born in May 1919 as the son of a typesetter, Wilhelm Mack began an apprenticeship in 1933. Apprenticeship as a lithographer in the company that he would later take over. The product range of the classic lithographic printing company with around eight employees included paper, labels, razor blade covers, brochures and posters.

In the 1960s, the pioneering switch from paper to packaging printing and finally the Specialisation in cardboard packaging. The fundamental decision in favour of technological change proved its worth: in the years that followed, the company continued to invest wisely in technology, building fabric and employee training and development.

Development characterised by success and recognition

A key milestone in the company's history was represented by the New building with 8,300 square metres including the complete renewal of the printing press park and the logistics for the raw material in 1997.

Further expansion has also taken place gradually in the company's recent history:

  • In 2008, colordruck Baiersbronn invested around ten million euros in an extension for the growing company and centralised the entire logistics on 1,700 square metres.
  • In 2009, the company built its own Packaging Service Centre (PSC), which enables the fully automated packaging of customer products. The inauguration of the 1,700 square metre PSC marked the company's final step from packaging printer to packaging service provider.
    Since then, the company has been able to outsource the entire packaging process for its customers to Baiersbronn as well as the logistics to the PoS.
  • In 2010, the family-owned company invested eight million euros in three identical printing presses, and further systems were installed in the following years.

The high investment volume is not only based on the successful business activities of the family company, whose senior boss was present in the business every day until the onset of his illness in 2007. Wilhelm Mack died in 2011 at the age of 92.

So close to nature 

In all further developments, the management and owner family paid particular attention not only to the preservation and expansion of jobs and technology, but also to the careful treatment of nature. Armed for the latest packaging trends

With an HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press and a Highcon Euclid III cutting and creasing machine, the quantum leap into the world of digitalisation took place in 2016. Digital packaging production. New zeitgeist - towards authenticity, exclusivity and differentiation

Globalisation, digitalisation, innovative technologies and increasing consumer demands in terms of sustainability and individualisation are exposing packaging manufacturers to major changes.
