Saving plastic is extremely important to Kaufland. The company has therefore developed new, innovative packaging for self-service meat. The packaging for self-service minced meat uses 70 per cent less plastic and has been available in over 30 shops in southern Germany since the beginning of October.

„We are proud that we have been the first food retailer to offer this sustainable, plastic-reduced packaging for minced meat since the beginning of October,“ says Robert Pudelko, Head of CSR Purchasing Germany. „Neither quality, content nor price have changed. Only the packaging has been optimised. This gives our customers the opportunity to join us in making a contribution to environmental protection and helping to close the recycling loop.“
