Syntegon Technology presented the new Kliklok ACE carton erector to the public for the first time at the virtual trade fair stand. Visitors to the trade fair were able to take part virtually in the premiere, which was presented in Bristol via video transmission. The virtual Syntegon trade fair runs until 13 May.
During the development of the Kliklok ACE ergonomics, sustainability and efficiency took centre stage. The new, integrated 'Flex Feeder' ensures reliable and safe cutting guidance throughout the entire process.
"The new carton erector not only achieves a high output, but also processes a wide range of carton sizes. The Kliklok ACE therefore offers manufacturers excellent flexibility, and the machine we will be showing at the virtual trade fair stand has been equipped with a double forming head for all standard carton sizes. The machine produces cartons with insert moulding and runs at 60 cycles per minute. This corresponds to an output of 120 cartons per minute. " Janet DarnleyProduct Manager at Syntegon Technology in Decatur, USA.
With a single, double or triple moulding head, the machine achieves up to 80 cycles per minute. The Kliklok ACE is suitable for various products such as baked goods, snacks, muesli bars, frozen food, ready meals, tea and coffee as well as various non-food products.
Flexibility in moulding systems
The new Kliklok ACE can form cartons both glueless and traditionally glued. On request, Syntegon Technology also offers the machine with new, unique ultrasonic technology. Both the tucked and ultrasonic versions are glue-free and therefore sustainable alternatives. The Kliklok ACE processes Cardboard formats from 190 mm length x 122 mm width up to 800 mm length x 600 mm width.
The packaging experts at Syntegon Technology have equipped the machine with the Flex Feeder equipped. This new solution offers optimum process control, reliably transporting the cartons from the moulding process to the machine outlet. The Kliklok ACE can process both solid board and corrugated board.
Ergonomic design of the carton erector
When developing the machine, Syntegon Technology attached great importance to a User-friendly design. For ergonomic loading of the carton blanks, the magazine on the new machine is at hip height. The machine can be converted without tools, which speeds up a vertical restart. The Kliklok ACE consists of Stainless steel and is classified to IP 54. The open and accessible machine design facilitates operation and cleaning.
To offer customers a future-proof solution, the Kliklok ACE is available not only with a single, but also with a double or triple moulding head. This option offers manufacturers added flexibility in terms of performance and format changes.
No control cabinet required
Compared to its predecessor model, the Kliklok ACE is more compact overall with the smallest possible footprint. The integrated electronics make a control cabinet superfluous. "This solution not only saves a lot of space, but is also easily accessible. As a cabinet is no longer required, there is no need for cooling, which makes the machine more efficient," explains Darnley.
