The German tea brand Samova has recently started using the garden-compostable NatureFlex films from Futamura for the outer packaging of its tea bags.

The German tea brand Samova has recently started using the garden-compostable NatureFlex films from Futamura, a specialist in renewable and compostable packaging films and cellulose sleeves, for the outer packaging of its tea bags.

The NatureFlex cellulose films from Futamura Chemicals Company Ltd. are a Sustainable packaging alternative to conventional films and available in clear, metallised and coloured. The films are made from cellulose that comes from certified, responsibly managed plantations. They are certified by TÜV Austria Certified for home composting and fulfil all standards for EN13432 (and international equivalents such as ASTM D6400) for industrial composting.

Flavour protection for teas

The compostable films offer outstanding technical performance: protective barriers for flavour, aroma and against mineral oil. They therefore guarantee improved product protection and a trustworthy shelf life compared to conventional plastic films. This makes them suitable for Ideal for tea packaging. According to Joachim Janz, Futamura Sales Manager Germany & Denmark, this means that the films can Premium flavour protection that Samova needs for the collection of its exclusive and special teas.
