With ECOGRIP, Klingele has now also developed a sustainable alternative for bottle carriers in collaboration with its partners in the pan-European Blue Box Partners alliance.
Activities by consumers, environmental groups and, most recently, legislators have increased the pressure to replace plastic packaging - especially single-use plastic packaging - with more environmentally friendly alternatives. This is not an easy task, especially for the beverage trade, because in view of the requirements for stability and uncomplicated handling during transport and storage, the use of plastic packaging has so far seemed to be without alternative.
Bottle carrier for many sizes
ECOGRIP is made of corrugated cardboard, replaces disposable shrink film for bottles between 0.33 and 1.5 litres and is a biodegradable and recyclable solution for multipacks. This solution can be adapted to many different bottle types on the market, regardless of diameter. ECOGRIP offers beverage producers, retailers and consumers a sustainable carrier solution for packs of four, six or eight bottles.
The ergonomic design of ECOGRIP facilitates transport, handling and storage. The corrugated board can also be customised with a variety of printing technologies for maximum brand presence and impact at the point of sale.
Joint solution from European partners
ECOGRIP is suitable for both manual and automated packaging. The solution is being rolled out across Europe by all members of the Blue Box Partners alliance and offers consumers, retailers and businesses a truly sustainable alternative.
Blue Box Partners is a European alliance of manufacturers of corrugated packaging and corrugated base paper, consisting of the companies VPK Packaging (Belgium), Klingele Paper and Packaging Group (Germany), Hinojosa (Spain) and Cart-One (Italy).
