Expansion of successful co-operations
Texplast produces PET regranulate and PET flakes from used PET bottles. The regranulate is primarily used for preforms for new PET bottles. The coloured PET flakes produced in the process are used by packaging manufacturer Fromm for the production of packaging tapes. In recent years, however, the focus has increasingly shifted towards the bottle cycle.
„The long-standing, cooperative and fair collaboration with the Fromm Group was the ideal basis for this further development. The takeover enables us to Rapid and efficient increase in capacity. At the same time, we are also securing production for both sides in the future. We can rely on a highly motivated, fully functional team and are proud to welcome all 125 Texplast employees to the Alpla family.“
Georg Lässer, Head of Recycling at Alpla
The PET Recycling Team Wolfen specialises in recycling PET bottles from the Yellow Bag. These are from household collection back into the recycling loop. The globally unique sorting and processing facilities at the Texplast site in Wolfen were built in 2019. The takeover was contractually agreed on 25 February 2022.
