Coveris Pirtó uses renewable energy

Since the beginning of 2022, the Hungarian hub, Coveris Pirtó, has been using 100 per cent renewable energy, including biomass and solar energy.

In order to achieve the goals of its sustainability strategy, Coveris has converted its Hungarian CEE hub, Coveris Pirtó, to 100 per cent renewable energy. Since the beginning of 2022, the hub has been using biomass and solar energy, among other things, for its energy supply.

In the Hungarian hub Flexible packaging for food and industrial goods, with an annual production volume of 2,500 tonnes of film. According to the local management, the decision to switch to sustainable production was not an easy step - but a necessary one on the way to a more sustainable future.

„By switching to green electricity, less harmful CO2 into the atmosphere. This sustainable change will save around 700,000 kg of CO2-emissions are saved. This enables Coveris Pirtó to reduce its Reduce Scope 2 emissions to zero.
