During order picking and storage, several different pieces of data have to be recorded and noted on products. A new volume measuring system from DEW - Waagen & Systeme ensures high efficiency. The company from Ettlingen is now presenting the system for the first time at LogiMat.
One innovation is the volume measuring system from DEW especially because it Volume measurement, weight measurement and scanning of item data for labels, for example. The D 125 scale display with touchscreen collates all the recorded data in one data set. The data package is then transferred to the company IT system in real time using software.
The data is automatically stored in the respective company IT system and the corresponding data fields in the screen mask are automatically filled in. Manual data transfer or the use of specific software for the transfer is therefore not necessary. The company software has Real-time access to all relevant data for storage and picking of parcels, envelopes or objects, can immediately compare the tolerance range and create corresponding labels - for example for dispatch.
The iDimension Plus laser camera is used to measure the volume of objects (including irregularly shaped objects) using 3D imaging technology and special algorithms. The system is equipped with a colour touchscreen display for real-time display of measured values and camera image. The new system is particularly suitable for storage and order picking in warehouses in the pharmaceutical, food and mechanical engineering industries.
