IFFA 2022 opens its doors

New food packaging for meat or alternative proteins aims to minimise the use of materials, recyclability and packaging made from renewable raw materials. These can be seen at IFFA, which has now opened in Frankfurt am Main.

Food packaging, especially for sensitive products made from meat or alternative proteins, must fulfil a wide range of requirements. Innovations are therefore aimed at minimising the use of materials, recyclability and packaging made from renewable raw materials. These can be seen at IFFA, which has now opened.

Around 900 exhibitors from over 40 countries will be showcasing their products and solutions in Frankfurt am Main until 19 May for the processing, packaging and sale of meat and alternative proteins. The companies present the entire range of their innovations from the last three years.

On an area of 116,000 square metres, spread over exhibition halls 8, 9, 11 and 12, you will find everything that makes a name for itself in the industry. The traditionally high internationality of the IFFA is also guaranteed this year: Over 60 per cent of the registered companies come from abroad. In addition to German companies, exhibitors from Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Poland will be well represented.

For the first time in over 70 years of tradition, IFFA has expanded its product nomenclature and is also showing Technologies and solutions for plant-based meat substitutes and alternative proteins. At least 200 exhibitors at IFFA offer products for the production of meat alternatives. They are spread across the entire exhibition area and can be viewed via the IFFA Contactor, The exhibitor and product search for the trade fair.

With digital supplement for the first time

For the first time, IFFA will take place with a digital supplement. The digital platform IFFA Digital Extension offers some exciting options before, during and after the trade fair. So you can Network with suitable business partners via matchmaking and make appointments.

Detailed product information and company profiles of exhibitors via text, images and video give a good impression of the product range. Chat functions or video calls facilitate direct exchange.
