Engel opens customer technology centre

Engel opens the new customer technology centre in St. Valentin. Here, customers can familiarise themselves with and try out products and technologies.

Engel has completed the largest investment in the company's history with the opening of the new customer technology centre in St. Valentin. Customers can familiarise themselves with and try out products and technologies. At the same time, the space is used for the company's own development work. 

More than 14 million euros invested Angels to the new technical centre at the large-scale machine plant in St. Valentin. The machinery is divided into four areas. The application technology centre for the large two-platen machines of the duo series produced at the site, the machine technology centre of the technology centre for lightweight composites and the Packaging centres are available to customers for demonstrations, trials and joint developments. The company utilises a fourth area for its own development work.

Several duo injection moulding machines with clamping forces of 7000 to 17000 kN are available in the application technology centre. There is also a duo injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 9000 kN, which is designed for the two-stage process. The new process makes it possible, Plastic waste can be processed as flakes in injection moulding directly after grinding and thus significantly increase energy efficiency in plastics recycling.

The technology centre for lightweight composites has also expanded. In addition to a v-duo 1700 with a vertical clamping unit, an insert 130 vertical machine and a duo 1700 horizontal machine with two easix articulated robots are available for composite processes.

The Packaging Centre is a new offering for customers in the packaging industry.
