The Ochsenhausen-based company Südpack has joined the Science Based Targets initiative. The film manufacturer is thus honouring its Net Zero planning and has committed itself to the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

South pack has joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as part of its Net Zero activities - and signed the Commitment Letter. The joint initiative of the UN Global Compact, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the World Resources Institute (WRI), the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) and others has set itself the goal of reducing carbon emissions, to anchor effective climate protection at company level in order to be able to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

Südpack thus belongs to an international community of companies that share the same values and goals. Above all, however, the global film manufacturer has committed itself to an even stronger commitment to climate protection along the entire value chain on the basis of the latest climate science findings - and ensures that its climate protection efforts are in line with the highest level of ambition of the Paris Agreement.

„We at Südpack are working intensively on the basis of our Net Zero vision to minimise our entire CO2-balance sheet in the long term,“ says Valeska Haux, VP Strategic Marketing at Südpack. „We are convinced that the challenges of climate change can only be tackled effectively if industry, institutions, politicians and consumers develop an even greater sense of responsibility, join forces and work together on pioneering solutions„, Haux continues.
