New inline printing system for blister sealing films

A world first, Hapa brings print and control together in a single pre-validated unit that utilises a common workflow.

Digital inline printing and print inspection are natural "partners" when it comes to packaging pharmaceuticals in a GMP environment. However, in a world first, Hapa now brings printing and inspection together in a single pre-validated unit that utilises a common workflow.

It drastically reduces the effort required for system integration and validation. This new type of print control is available on the Achema can be seen in two systems: The H382 printing system, the global industry standard for inline printing on closure films for blister packs, which has now been updated for smart factory environments, and the Web 4.0 5D printing system, which allows the efficiency benefits of digital printing to be used for a complete print layout in CMYK, including variable data and serialised codes.

Both systems now have a Pre-validated unit consisting of a pressure module and a control modulethat use the same end-to-end PDF workflow. This simplifies the technical integration of the control system into the workflow, the Time required for setup and validation significantly reduced. The control includes the entire print image, the printed data and codes, the grading and the colours.

At the same time, users only have a single system partner and can thus avoid a typical interface problem. Testing is now carried out exclusively on the basis of the original PDF. Both the H382 and Web 4.0 5D printing systems are designed for inline printing and are supplied as standard as top (T) and stand-alone (S) versions for direct inline integration into packaging lines. They are also available as roll-to-roll (R) configurations, which enable internal offline production of packaging material if required.
