Safe handling of workpieces with different surfaces is a prerequisite for vacuum cups across all industries. Additional time, and therefore costs, can be saved by making installation and maintenance as simple as possible. To this end, the automation specialist SMC has now expanded its portfolio of vacuum cups accordingly with the ZP3C series. Whether using an open-end or Allen key, assembly and installation are quick and easy. In addition, the Vacuum cup consisting of two assemblies (adapter and suction cup), allowing maintenance of suction cup and screen filter without tools is. The two different versions - flat suction cup with ribs or bellows - realise a safe Transport of workpieces with flat and undeformed as well as uneven and/or concave surfaces.
The ZP3C series vacuum cup consists of an adapter and a suction cup. The two components enable separate and therefore Environmentally friendly disposal of metal and rubber parts. Assembly is just as easy with a standard screw or Allen key. Available in size 40 or 50 (each with a suction cup diameter in mm), it makes it easier to adapt to different mould sizes and gives users the flexibility to use it for different application requirements. The Strainer filter prevents foreign bodies from entering the pipework - This reduces the frequency with which the suction filter element needs to be replaced and also makes it easier to clean and check for blockages. The 250 µm mesh size of the screen filter prevents foreign matter from penetrating.
The ZP3C series is durable thanks to the robust fluororubber (FS61) from which the suction cups are made. Abrasion resistance is more than twice as high as with urethane suction cups. This applies to both versions: One is the flat suction cup with ribs, which is suitable for workpieces with a flat and undeformed surface and ensures reliable suction and release of workpieces thanks to the ribbed structure on the suction surface. In contrast, the 1.5-stage bellows design ensures reliable transfer of workpieces with uneven or concave surfaces and is also adaptable to changes in the height and angle of the workpiece. Both versions ensure high process reliability and fast cycle times for the right workpiece.
