Airopack expands to South Korea

The Dutch aerosol packaging company Airopack International BV is gaining a foothold in the South Korean market with a joint venture. With products made from recycled PET, the Dutch company hopes to gain an advantage in view of the endeavours to use more recycled material.

Airopack International BV already has a strong presence in Europe and the United States and has set itself the task of distributing its compressed air-driven PET aerosol containers and dosing systems worldwide. With a new joint venture with Airodispensing Solutions in South Korea, the company is now venturing into the Asian market for the first time.

South Korea is the perfect market to introduce Airopack's air-powered dispensing solution to Asia, says Tae Kim, CEO of Airodispensing Solutions. "I first saw Airopack's packaging in action in the USA almost 12 years ago. But we have never seen this type of packaging here in Asia", explained Kim. "Today, the packaging market in South Korea is growing rapidly, and consumers want the latest technology, but they also want something that is environmentally friendly. Airopack is all that - smart, green and economical."

Sustainability and user-friendliness combined

Like so many governments The South Korean government is also pushing for more sustainable packagingAiropack's option of using recycled PET and its compressed air-driven technology without propellants fulfils all requirements. "Airopack packaging enables us to stay ahead of the curve and provide the market with the sustainable packaging solutions it needs to move forward", Kim continues. "This is a really exciting entry into Asia because the Korean market has so many products, from world-famous cosmetics to household products."
