Alfred Ritter brings part of the supply chain into the company

On 1 April, Alfred Ritter takes over packaging at the existing Reichenbach site, thereby bringing another part of the supply chain into the company.

On 1 April, Alfred Ritter GmbH will take over the packaging operations at the existing Reichenbach site from its previous partner Behla, a subsidiary of the Nagel-Group. Ritter is thus bringing another part of its supply chain into the company.

Packaging includes, for example, packing Ritter Sport products in shelf-ready cartons or displays for retailers. It is therefore one of the last steps before delivery. The takeover is by express agreement between the two companies.

Ritter Sport has been working in partnership with the Nagel-Group for more than 20 years. Warehouse logistics and the transport of goods will continue to be handled by the logistics service provider. Just at the beginning of the year, both companies electrified the shuttle transport between production in Waldenbuch, the raw and packaging materials warehouse in Dettenhausen and the logistics centre in Reichenbach and are using two electric trucks on the route.

Ritter hopes that the takeover of the packaging division will lead to closer co-operation between the Waldenbuch and Reichenbach sites through direct communication, standardised systems and more transparency.

„We are thus bringing another part of our supply chain into the company. In future, the entire process from the production of the chocolate to the finished pack ready for delivery to retailers will be in our hands.“

Asmus Wolff, Managing Director Supply Chain of Alfred Ritter GmbH

The approximately 160 employees who already work exclusively for Ritter Sport will be transferred to the new company as part of the takeover. Part of the Ritter workforce.
