Mondi has teamed up with Syntegon to develop a recyclable paper packaging solution for dry foods such as flour, sugar and pasta. Paper with recycled fibres was used for the first time.

Mondi's EcoVantage kraft paper is used for the packaging. approved by ISEGA for the entire food packaging sector was developed. EcoVantage is made from recycled and responsibly sourced virgin fibres and has been used primarily for paper shopping bags. Mondi's commitment to investing in research and development and successful collaboration with industry players has enabled Mondi to expand its application possibilities, making EcoVantage the most sustainable fibre in the world.he growing demand from consumers for paper-based packaging to do justice to them.

Mondi supplies EcoVantage roll material to Syntegon, which then applies a dot coating to produce dust-tight, heat-sealable packaging, which prevents contamination throughout the entire product life cycle - from production to the consumer's home. Syntegon's technology ensures that only the minimum amount of sealant is used. The versatility of its technology ensures the protection of powdered food products and packaging strength. The packaging can be recycled in existing paper streams.

The development of these new packaging solutions illustrates a key element of the MAP2030 targets of the Mondi Group: by using recycled fibres, EcoVantage Kraft paper prevents waste, keeps materials in circulation and can be recycled in existing paper waste streams, as Mondi's Recycling Lab proves.
