Papacks has now opened its Gigafactory 2 in Thuringia. Three years after the ground-breaking ceremony and the opening of the Gigafactory in Arnstadt, the company has now more than doubled the factory's production area with an extension.
The opening of Gigafactory 2 is intended to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. Papacks has invested a total of almost 30 million euros in the site and employs almost 150 people.
"Our industry, and we at Papacks in particular, are in a phase of growth. We feel that we are at the forefront of significant change as part of the sustainable packaging world. A more sustainable future is starting here in Arnstadt," says Tahsin Dag, CEO of Papacks and Chairman of the Executive Board of the European Moulded Pulp Producers Association (EMPPA).
