As the number of online orders increases, so does the number of returns. This results in increased logistics costs for retailers. With the BG Pouch System, the Beumer Group is introducing a new e-commerce fulfilment technology designed to reduce the effort involved.
The specialised e-commerce fulfilment technology can be used for both Transport, sort, organise and store outgoing and returned items much faster and with less effort. The number of product touches in the returns process can be reduced by more than half.
In addition, each item goes directly into a bag - instead of having to be sent back to the regular warehouse or picked. The Bags thus serve as temporary storage. For resale, operators can send the goods directly from the dynamic buffer for sorting and dispatch. The BG Pouch System thus eliminates unnecessary manual steps. This accelerates and smoothes material flows and enables predictive picking. This reduces peak loads during handling.
Because the sorter can be suspended from the ceiling, this saves floor space. The BG Pouch System therefore supports operators who have limited space at their sites. The Beumer Group can also expand the modular system if required. Each module of the BG Pouch System is capable of holding more than process 10,000 bags per hour.
A non-contact magnetic drive enables the Operation without energy and maintenance-intensive pneumatics. This saves users operating costs - because there is less wear and tear on mechanical parts. Less maintenance is required, and fewer spare parts and less cleaning are needed. The BG Pouch System is flexible. It can be Process a wide range of packaging, from cardboard boxes to polybags weighing up to seven kilograms per bag. This makes it well suited to a broad product portfolio including print and media, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and electronics.
