Five questions for Burkhard Vogel (Getecha)

Burkhard Vogel has been Managing Director of Sales and Marketing at Getecha since 2004. The mechanical engineer has been involved in sales, assembly technology and plant commissioning for granulators and briquetting presses since 1987. His current focus is on customised complete solutions for shredding technology and automation.

pj: Mr Vogel, what is the current focus of Getecha's business activities?

Burkhard Vogel: As one of the leading German manufacturers of shredding systems, we realise granulators of various designs and dimensions for the in-house recycling of plastics processing companies. The realisation highly automated customised solutions is becoming increasingly important, with the focus on linking shredding technology with conveying, disposal and packaging systems and reducing the energy consumption of the systems.

pj: What particular personal challenges did you face last year?

Burkhard Vogel: My main task is to expand the market position of the family business, in particular by developing unique selling points such as the high level of expertise in the integration of automation and shredding technology. Personally, I am always interested in translating the ideas and experience I have gained in my 30 years of work into concrete solutions, ideally in close cooperation with our customers worldwide. I particularly enjoy developing friendly contacts with interesting people from other cultures.

pj: How do you assess the economic situation?

Burkhard Vogel: The future prospects in the sales markets of the plastics industry and recycling technology are very good, as the Establishment of functioning material cycles in companies and in the end consumer markets. For us as a plant manufacturer, this means that customers will continue to need innovative solutions for efficient waste and residue processing in the coming decades. Our credo is: standard was yesterday, individuality is today.

pj: What effects do you expect for the company?

Burkhard Vogel: In combination with our expertise in special machine construction, our expertise in automation and shredding technology is the best prerequisite for a secure future for the company. We will also continue to optimise our service for suppliers.

pj: What do you see as the most important tasks and trends in the industry?

Burkhard Vogel: The automation of shredding processes in the plastics processing industry will continue to increase. Customers expect considerable savings from the operation of our systems. They want to achieve high-quality processing results with low-maintenance, service-friendly systems that can be used directly for the manufacture of new quality products.
