This year, packaging machine manufacturer Schubert is expanding its training programme with a newly developed digital learning platform and is launching content for machine operators on this platform. Following the opening of the large training centre a year ago, Schubert is taking the next step towards modern training concepts.
„Schubert Learning Space“ is the name of the digital learning platform whose initial content the packaging machine manufacturer is currently testing in collaboration with customers and plans to present in 2024. It will include interactive courses aimed at both customers' specialists and the company's own employees.
„We want to provide our customers with the professional support they need to get the most out of their packaging system. That's why we are increasingly investing in new training concepts with a mix of traditional and digital learning content.“
Sarah Busch, Head of Customer Trainings at Gerhard Schubert GmbH
Schubert would also like to offer comprehensive learning modules for machine operators. It is precisely in this area that manufacturing companies find it difficult to find, train and retain good employees. One of the most common obstacles is the very different levels of technical and language skills. „That's why we work a learning concept with pre-produced accessible content This means lots of images, animations and videos that can be understood with as little language as possible,“ reports Sarah Busch. This content will be available on demand and can be activated by the production manager himself for staff training if required.
Larger team and new training machine expand capacities
In addition, Schubert is reorganising itself internally in order to expand its training capacities and simplify the handling of appointments. In a few weeks Another training machine to the latest standard move into the training centre. The training team has also grown considerably, says Sarah Busch: „Two of our colleagues are now responsible for the design and development of new training formats and we have a central administrative office that handles all customer support and course processing in the training centre.“
In 2024, customers will therefore be digital learning content, more courses and more quickly available training dates can benefit. The modular design of the Schubert machines benefits the training concept, as the standardised components such as the pick-and-place robots or the Transmodul function in virtually the same way in every system. „Nevertheless, our trainers naturally prepare themselves conscientiously for the individual customer machines and set appropriate focal points in the training courses,“ emphasises Sarah Busch. The The value of well-trained staff cannot be overestimated: Ultimately, disruptions and unplanned downtimes in production can be avoided in the long term - an effect that increases the availability of the systems, boosts efficiency and makes training measures a more than worthwhile investment.
