The new paper label from Faller Packaging fulfils both sustainability and anti-counterfeiting requirements. It is semi-transparent, fibre-based and tamper-proof.
„We opted for a semi-transparent paper made from pure cellulose fibres and without chemical additives for the outer material. The product is therefore biodegradable and can be recycled. In combination with a fibre-based folding carton or an Outsert leaflet, the result is a single-variety end product that can be fed into the recycling process without sorting and thus achieves the maximum recycling rate.“
Niklas Mößner, Product Manager at Faller Packaging
With this new development, the specialist for folding cartons, leaflets, labels and combination products from a single source is consistently pursuing its course of supporting the pharmaceutical industry with sustainable packaging concepts. To close the cycle, the material used comes from Paper from sustainable forestry.
The monomaterial solution is also state-of-the-art in terms of counterfeit protection: the closure label offers first-opening protection and therefore fulfils the EU-wide binding standard EN 16679:2014. Tampering with the packaging can be prevented, by Faller the label is positioned over the tuck-in flap of the folding box. If the box has already been opened, this is clearly visible. The user can open the closure more easily with additional perforations, but these are not absolutely necessary. In addition to product and brand protection, the label also offers convincing advantages in production: It impresses with optimum machinability and, due to its transparent nature no change to the layout or design of the folding box.
Faller Packaging uses an acrylate-based adhesive to ensure that the label adheres well to all lacquer-free and dispersion-coated folding cartons. This has a high initial and final adhesion. This adhesive specially developed for pharmaceutical applications the label cannot be removed without leaving residue. This also increases counterfeit protection and clearly indicates possible tampering.
„We are very proud of this tamper-proof and sustainable labelling solution, which we can now offer to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. For us, sustainability is a central component of our corporate DNA and more relevant than ever.“
