Gerhard Schubert GmbH's presence at Anuga FoodTec will centre on the TLM Comfort Feeder, a solution for feeding carton blanks. The company will also be showing how cardboard packaging can be produced without glue.

The Anuga FoodTec is an important information platform for the international food and beverage industry. As the world's only supplier fair, it covers all aspects of production, including filling and packaging technology and packaging. This year's trade fair will focus on the question of how food production can be organised in the future to bring about sustainable change. For the Gerhard Schubert GmbH, which itself pursues sustainable goals with its Mission Blue programme, Anuga is a good opportunity to present its High-performance and resource-saving packaging solutions to a broad specialist audience.

The TLM Comfort Feeder will be on show live at the trade fair stand. The background to the development of the innovative packaging solution was the observation that there can be delays in the process if the blank magazine on the packaging system runs empty, as machine operators then have to react quickly in order to avoid unnecessary stops. With the new TLM Comfort Feeder from Schubert, this is now a thing of the past, as can be seen at Anuga. Simply place the entire pallet with the blanks still in the cut sheet into the machine. An F4 robot then pulls the blanks directly out of the sheet one by one and feeds them to the erecting process in the A6 erector at a speed of 60 cycles per minute. However, this procedure also offers another advantage: the cut sheet can be optimised even better for the greatest possible utilisation of the packaging material. be used. This saves material and therefore has a positive impact on the ecological footprint. The combination of innovative sheet feeding, high erecting performance and loading and sealing offers Schubert customers a particularly advantageous machine concept: the bar packer belongs to Schubert's TLM Power Compact machine category, which describes TLM machines with a high power density in a small space.

In addition to the live demonstration of the TLM Comfort Feeder, Schubert experts will be providing information about the diverse portfolio of packaging machines at various theme islands. Starting with the Pick-and-place robots in the picker line, flow and case packers and even entire packaging lines Schubert offers all the machine technologies that food manufacturers need for their high-quality packaging. Schubert's flexible, modular and therefore easily convertible packaging machines process both conventional and fully recyclable packaging.

„As a packaging machine manufacturer, we attach great importance to sustainability, which is why we are continuously developing our innovative packaging machines in this direction. Last year, for example, we also equipped our Flowpacker with box motion sealing technology, which enables cross-sealing using ultrasound. The seal is also particularly suitable for recyclable tubular bags made from monofilms or paper-based films.“

With regard to the topic of sustainability, Schubert has also brought interested trade fair visitors two further highlights: Dotlock, a Technology that makes cardboard packaging completely glue-free, and a cardboard-monofilm hybrid solution without glue, which significantly minimises the use of plastic. Dotlock is based on the clinching technique used to join metals. The cardboard layers are pierced from one side with a needle, creating a collar on the other side. This is then pressed onto the cardboard and creates a stable force and form fit. As a 100 per cent glue-free packaging solution, Dotlock Fully recyclable via the paper cycle. The new hybrid packaging consists only of cardboard and very thin monofilm, both of which are very easy to separate and therefore fully recyclable.

„Our focus is on modular, digital and robot-based packaging machines. However, we also focus on the development of sustainable packaging processes. Samples of both Dotlock and the new hybrid packaging can be viewed at our stand.“
