In 2019, Coval launched its first carbon face gripper, the CVGC, which was developed for collaborative robots when this market was just emerging. Today, in an ever-growing market, the company is launching a second generation - with optimised modularity and compatibility while increasing performance.
It is not just a simple update, the company emphasises. The CVGC carbon fibre gripper was on the basis of the feedback customers, integrators, manufacturers and operators. The new generation also takes into account Current and future trends in the market for collaborative robotsIncreased variety of applications, growing number of manufacturers, increased co-presence with the operator, handling of heavier loads.
The CVGC offers a wide range of configuration options and is very versatile. Every customer can configure their carbon face gripper exactly according to their needs. It is available in three sizes (240×120 mm, 320×160 mm, 350×250 mm), two types of gripping surfaces (foam or suction pad) and with or without an integrated vacuum generator, as well as with a choice of three mounting interfaces and six connection cables. This makes it Compatible with all common cobots.

The new vacuum gripper is now equipped with a multi-stage pump that ensures higher performance. Thanks to this equipment and the lightness of the housing, which is made of a carbon fibre structure, which is 2.5 times lighter than steel and at the same time six times stronger, it can carry heavier loads. This contributes to the versatility of the CVGC and meets an ever-increasing demand from manufacturers.
As the CVGC is designed for cooperation with the operator for separate, simultaneous or alternating tasks the gripper is equipped with edge protection made of flexible and resistant material to protect the operator in the event of contact with the gripper.
Wide range of applications
With its ultra-lightweight surface gripper, Coval transforms any collaborative robot into a tool for increasing productivity and health and safety in the workplace in a wide range of industries: Food processing, packaging, plastics processing, etc. On request, the design team is also for the development of customised area grippers available.
