Material reduction is an issue here, because sustainability is and remains important. bpc Berndt+Partner Creality is on the lookout for innovative ideas. Every month, we present the Packaging of the Month in co-operation.
Can good, all good
We are mostly familiar with aluminium cans with classic tear-off lids from the supermarket. A company from London uses such packaging for a Refill system with cosmetic products.
Kankan's soap and body care products are characterised by a Packaging system consisting of reuse and refill for use. The aim is to reduce plastic waste. The system consists of two parts: a reusable dispenser made of Post-consumer recyclate and slim aluminium cans, which can be replaced. Both parts can be screwed together and are recyclable.
The company also pursues a regenerative approach and plants a tree for every can purchased. For the founders of Kankan, Eliza and Mary, it was particularly important to create a design that is visually appealing and endlessly recyclable. The products are also protected from external influences in the aluminium cans and weigh less during transport.
