At Logimat, Knüppel will be presenting solutions for efficient logistics and showcasing products and application solutions for the optimisation of packaging processes and sustainable packaging.

Packaging processes and the requirements for product protection in logistics are becoming increasingly complex. Knüppel demonstrates how packaging processes can be optimised using high-performance machines, such as the new KV Even stretch wrapper, which is easy to load thanks to its very flat turntable and also saves space. Great scope for optimisation can also be achieved by using the also presented Layertrays with pre-moulded holders for different component types This simplifies handling and improves packing density.

Knüppel will also be showing how material can be saved at Logimat: for example, by using high-performance stretch films and avoiding overpacking or by the use of a very effective anti-slip paper as an intermediate layer when securing packaged goods on pallets. As an alternative to traditional corrugated cardboard blanks, the significantly thinner anti-slip paper reduces the amount of material used and also helps to significantly reduce film consumption during subsequent stretching. Ultimately, transport costs and storage space can even be saved.

„We see our focus as holistic consulting and the development of customised packaging solutions that take into account aspects such as sustainability, acceleration of the packaging process and material savings or waste avoidance.“

As an example, Growe cites an individually developed packaging solution for headlights - a Pack density-optimised, paper-based constructive packaging with ESD protection for components from the automotive sector. The solution is universal and can be used for three different types of headlights, which reduces the number of packaging variants for the customer, which in turn reduces the burden on the MRP and warehouse.

Sustainable packaging

Sustainable logistics are ensured by the paper net, which was also created in Knüppel's packaging development department and is used as a Alternative to PE foam cushions can be used and has the same cushioning properties as plastic foam. This intelligent inner packaging is particularly for the transport of shock-sensitive packaged goods, for electronic components, for example, and has already been honoured with the German Packaging Award 2024 and the Worldstar 2025 Award.

The packaging specialist presented at Logimat Reusable box made from lightweight birch plywood, The Granby Box also contributes to greater sustainability, as its low weight reduces CO2 emissions during transport. Delivered flat, it also saves storage space. It can also be customised.

Protect against corrosion

An essential requirement for product protection when packaging metallic goods is regularly a Effective corrosion protection during transport and storage. At Logimat, Knüppel will be showcasing various solutions with integrated corrosion protection: for example, the Valeno Layertray, a corrugated cardboard load carrier for various components such as gear wheels, camshafts or brake discs etc., which is already laminated with a wafer-thin corrosion protection film. The work step of lining the load carrier with film is no longer necessary. The film content of the tray is so low that it can be completely disposed of in waste paper after use.
