Achim Schalk becomes new Management Board member at Gerresheimer

He succeeds Dr Lukas Burkhardt, who has decided not to extend his contract after eight years on the Executive Board and to take up a new professional challenge.

The Supervisory Board of Gerresheimer AG has appointed Achim Schalk as a new member of the Management Board. He will succeed Dr Lukas Burkhardt on 1 November 2025 and assume responsibility for three central business units.

The Düsseldorf-based packaging specialist Gerresheimer AG is reorganising its Management Board. Achim Schalk will join the company's management board on 1 November 2025. He succeeds Dr Lukas Burkhardt who, after eight years on the Management Board, has decided not to extend his contract and to take up a new professional challenge.

Mr Schalk has more than 25 years of experience in international industrial companies. Most recently, he worked at Magnera Inc., a speciality materials manufacturer formed from the merger of parts of Berry Global Inc. and Glatfelter Inc. There he was responsible for the business in the EMEIA and APAC regions. The economics graduate began his career at automotive supplier Kolbenschmidt Pierburg before holding various management positions at Berry Global, including Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Responsibility for three business units

Schalk will assume global responsibility for the Moulded Glass, Tubular Glass and Syringe Systems divisions at Gerresheimer. CEO Dietmar Siemssen will remain responsible for the Primary Packaging Plastics, Medical Systems and Advanced Technologies business units.
