Adelholzener Alpenquellen has officially commissioned its new ‚A 10‘ non-returnable PET line. With a capacity of up to 36,000 bottles per hour and a possible annual production of 100 million bottles, the company is significantly expanding its bottling capacity.

The new plant will primarily serve the high demand for mineral water in the standard 0.5 and 1.0 litre bottles. However, spritzers and sweet drinks can also be bottled if required.

With this investment, Adelholzener is not only pursuing its growth targets, but is also consciously focussing on environmentally friendly technology. The bottling plant, planned and installed by the Krones AG, thanks to state-of-the-art processes, significantly reduces water and energy consumption.

At the same time as the new filling line, a new, centralised high-pressure air compressor goes into operation, which now supplies all the blow-moulding machines on the non-returnable PET filling lines, significantly increasing efficiency.

„With the commissioning of our new PET plant, we are consistently driving forward our long-term development strategy here in Bad Adelholzen. The new production plant is a central part of a comprehensive investment programme to secure the future of our company. However, it is already helping us to better cushion peaks in demand in the growing mineral water segment - for example during the increasingly frequent periods of heat in summer.“

Managing Director Peter Lachenmeir

More jobs in the region

The new plant will also stimulate growth in the region around Bad Adelholzen. The new bottling plant will create an additional double-digit number of qualified, long-term secure jobs, according to the statement.

Growing on-the-go consumption requires new capacities: PET plant responds to market dynamics

Changing consumer habits are creating additional momentum in the already fast-growing mineral water market: the increasing demand for beverages for on the go especially in light, handy disposable PET containers - made the new plant necessary. In the period from January to June 2025 alone, Adelholzener recorded an increase in sales of around 6 per cent in this segment compared to the same period last year.

According to the company, the new PET plant will give it the production capacity and flexibility it needs to respond to this development in a targeted manner and successfully assert itself in the dynamic market environment.
