Linx Printing Technologies has developed a black adhesive ink for durable codes on rigid plastics and plastic films.

The new black plastic adhesion ink 1061 ensures durable adhesion, especially on PET and other substrates with low surface energy, such as OPP, BOPP, HDPE and LDPE. It is suitable for companies that process a variety of different plastic packaging for different products in their range. The ink is also characterised by its Strong adhesion on other substrates that are difficult to print on for example those with a fat or oil coating and on frozen food packaging before freezing.

The new adhesive ink is compatible with Linx 8000 Series CIJ printers. The formulation enables longer intervals between maintenance operations and therefore longer availability and lower maintenance costs.

In contrast to other adhesion inks, the new Linx ink is also free from PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated substances), CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction) and mineral oils. It complies with industry standards such as the exclusion policy of the European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA exclusion policy). This supports health and safety compliance.

„Plastics have a low surface energy and have therefore always been difficult to print on. There are specialised inks for certain materials, but until now no ink has been versatile enough for effective printing on many different substrates. Our new black plastic adhesion ink fills this gap in the market. It produces consistently high-quality codes when printing on the latest generation of flexible monofilms and rigid plastics. The ink delivers outstanding performance, fulfils health and safety requirements and has a positive impact on the total cost of ownership.“

Simon Millett, Product Manager for Ink at Linx Printing Technologies

The new ink has met the high standards in a series of adhesion quality tests, among other things in tape tests, in which a special adhesive tape is used to test the ink's resistance to stresses in the production, distribution and delivery process.
