The pooling service provider for reusable packaging, Euro Pool System, now recommends Herma adhesive material to its customers as a tested material for labelling.

Thanks to the 62P pressure-sensitive adhesive, labels for the appropriate labelling of reusable boxes fulfil two actually contradictory properties particularly well: adhere securely in damp, cool environments and can be washed off again later without leaving any residue.

Customers of the logistics provider of Reusable packaging in the European fresh produce supply chain include producers, transport and processing companies. Euro Pool System offers pooling services for the efficient and reliable transport of fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and baked goods.

The logistics provider uses reusable and foldable plastic crates, which are more than seven years in circulation and are therefore significantly more sustainable than disposable alternatives.

Selection of adhesive materials for fresh produce transport boxes

After each transport, the crates are checked, cleaned and handed over to the next customer for reuse. This customer has the right, No foreign labels on the crates to be found. This eliminates the need for additional cleaning work for the customer, as heavily sticky crates either have to be treated at great expense or sorted out.

For labelling the reusable boxes, we recommend Euro Pool System therefore offers its customers a selection of adhesive materials for the labels that are subject to strict criteria.

Contribution to an improved circular economy

The cleaning process is an elementary step on the way to an improved circular economy, as the label is cleanly separated from the reusable boxes. For this, the Herma Labels are removed from the webs using hot water, high pressure and highly effective cleaning agents. The 62P adhesive remains completely on the label, which is removed with the dirty water. This means that no adhesive residue remains on the crates.
