At drupa, Henkel Adhesive Technologies will be showcasing innovations in adhesives and functional coatings that promote a circular economy and reduced CO2-footprint.
From flexible packaging and paper packaging to special adhesive tapes and labels, Henkel offers a broad portfolio of adhesives and coatings for the requirements of the packaging and printing industry. At drupa, Henkel will be focussing on Developments in the circular economy, reduction in CO2-footprint and innovation.
Henkel is committed to returning high-quality materials to the cycle. The adhesives used in packaging generally make up no more than five per cent of the total weight - and but their properties can make all the difference when it comes to the overall usability of the material. Henkel's RE range of adhesives and coatings has been developed for recycling and improves both the recyclability of packaging and the use of recycled material in new packaging.
One of the product highlights is Aquence PS 3017 RE, a water-based acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive developed for olefin film labels on washable PET bottles. The Labels can be removed from the bottles more easily and with less energy expenditure, while at the same time increasing the purity and value of the recycled PET. Another product is a Extrudable polyolefin-based hotmelt solution for resealable lids of food packaging that is easy to open. The adhesive is characterised by low odour and excellent transparency for a better customer experience and is compatible with both PET and PE, which improves recyclability.
