The Viennese company aer GmbH wants to eliminate single-use packaging waste and unnecessary transport of water with refillable, mix-it-yourself cleaners and hand soap. To this end, it has developed water-soluble powders and reusable containers and bottles in the home and personal care sector.
Since it was founded in 2019, the aim has been to replace pre-filled products and conventional disposable packaging with New standards in formulation and product design in these two areas.
Water-soluble powder in sachets
The concept: aer supplies its customers with water-soluble powder mixtures packaged in paper sachets and unfilled, recyclable containers directly to their homes. There they mix the powder in the container with water - and hold the finished product in their hands. The containers can be refilled and reused on an ongoing basis.
Common household and personal care products consist of up to 80% water - an ingredient that most people have freely available at home.

In addition, the water-soluble powders are offered exclusively in biodegradable paper packaging. Each refill eliminates the need for conventional, environmentally harmful disposable containers. Customers can either order refills once via the webshop or opt for a recurring subscription. aer supplies them monthly, for example, so that they don't have to worry about replenishment.
