The new transparent high-temperature composite film allflex UHT (Ultra High Temperature) from allvac guarantees a temperature resistance of up to +121 °C. It is therefore particularly suitable for the convenience sector.
allvac Folien GmbH presents a new high-temperature composite film: The film allflex UHT can tolerate temperatures of up to 121 °C for up to one hour. It is therefore suitable for the hygienic sterilisation of corn, beetroot and other foods, for example. It also offers high transparency and resistance to pressure surges.
„The allflex UHT is a great addition to our allflex series. The use of polypropylene and special adhesion promoters increases the temperature resistance of the film without causing delamination or open sealing seams in the sterilisation and cooking process. Thanks to the 11-layer structure and the cast co-extrusion process, we have also optimised the film quality in terms of transparency and impact resistance.“ Thomas Herbst, Sales Manager allvac Folien GmbH
According to the company, the film can be on all common thermoforming machines can be used.
allflex UHT offers high temperature tolerance
As a flexible co-extruded high-temperature composite film with a PA/PP medium barrier, the allflex UHT Temperature ranges from -40 °C to +121 °C. Polyamide (PA) ensures a good barrier and mechanical strength of the film. Polypropylene (PP) ensures temperature resistance of up to +121 °C for up to one hour.
The film is therefore suitable for sterilising vegetables, for example. This makes the allflex UHT a safe packaging solution for Pre-prepared foods and ready meals for the convenience sector particularly interesting: they can be heated for consumption directly in the high-temperature composite film.
In addition to convenience, the allflex UHT is also suitable for the Vacuum cooking suitable. Meat, fish, vegetables and fruit are vacuum-packed in bags made from allflex film. The food is gently cooked at a low temperature, sometimes for over six hours.
The result is unique flavours and textures as well as more vitamins and nutrients. The sealed food cannot dry out or oxidise. This sous vide method can also intensify the natural colour of the products.
Flexible and robust
The Packaging specialist allvac manufactures its high-temperature composite film, as well as its other allflex film types, at the company headquarters in Waltenhofen, Bavaria. On the new cast coextrusion line Films in thicknesses from 50 to 350 m are produced.
The series can be used in a wide range of processing applications. According to Herbst, it is very flexible and robust and forgives minor operator errors and incorrect machine settings during processing.
He adds: „Hygienic packaging, such as with our allflex UHT, protects food from spoiling. And that is an important building block for sustainable food processing. Especially with regard to the keyword Safe Food. Sometimes you just can't do without plastic.“
