Alpla expands in the Asia-Pacific growth region and opens a second site in Thailand, which combines all production technologies, a technical centre and the one-stop shop for Design STUDIOa.

Alpla is expanding in the Asia-Pacific growth region and opening a second site in Thailand. The modern plant in Chachoengsao near Bangkok combines all production technologies, a technical centre and the one-stop shop for design STUDIOa on 24,000 square metres.

Alpla is increasing its presence in Southeast Asia and has just opened a modern plant in Thailand after a year of construction. The new 24,000 square metre building in Chachoengsao near Bangkok includes production and administration, a technical centre for product development and the first STUDIOa in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) for the design of new packaging solutions with customers. Alpla multiplies its production capacity in Thailand with its second site in the country. Chachoengsao replaces Prachinburi as the headquarters and expands its portfolio to include the two technologies injection moulding (IM) and single-stage injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM).

Capacity increase and portfolio expansion

In Chachoengsao, Alpla uses all core technologies to manufacture high-quality Bottles, preforms, matching closures and injection-moulded plastic parts. One focus is on the two newly introduced technologies of single-stage injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM) and injection moulding (IM).

All production lines have been in series production since the start of 2025. More than 190 skilled workers are employed in Chachoengsao. The new site in the Bangkok metropolitan region scores with customer proximity and optimal connections. At its first plant in Prachinburi, Alpla will fully specialise in extrusion blow moulding (EBM) in the future.

Growth market Thailand

In 2022, Alpla bundled its business in Southeast Asia and China to form the new Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In the same year, the company as a joint venture partner of the Thai company PTT Global Chemical. The joint state-of-the-art recycling plant Envicco in the province of Rayong supplies 30,000 tonnes of food-grade PET recycling material (rPET) and 15,000 tonnes of HDPE recycling material (rHDPE) every year.

In addition to the Technical Centre, the company now also offers added value for better products in the STUDIOa. The innovative One-stop shop for product design involves customers as early as the development phase and creates thanks to lightweighting and design for recycling more sustainable packaging.
