Altana wants to expand PVC-free solutions

Sealing compounds are used in a wide variety of packaging, for example for food and drinks. They protect the contents from external influences and help to extend their shelf life. Actega has already brought a whole range of sustainable innovations to the market in this area. For example, researchers in Bremen have developed Provalin, which, according to Actega, is the only Plasticiser-free seal for metal vacuum closures. Consumers recognise the innovation by the blue ring on the inside of tin lids.

The brands acquired by Henkel include Celox and Sincera. The closure materials prevent the ingress of oxygen after the filling of beer bottles, for example, and help to ensure that mineral water closures are particularly tight and yet easier to open.
