With Renature Wrap, Storopack presents a sustainable alternative to bubble wrap and PE roll foam. The protective packaging based on plant starch is completely biodegradable and certified by TÜV Austria for home composting.
Renature Wrap from Storopack consists mainly of plant starch. The main raw material is obtained from yellow peas which is a by-product of crop rotation in agriculture. According to the company, the extraction of the material has no impact on food production.
The protective packaging is suitable for Wrapping, padding and surface protection for sensitive goods. In addition to being biodegradable, Renature Wrap offers a dust-free and easy-to-handle solution that is characterised by fan-folding and easy separability of the sheets during the packaging process. Thanks to the material properties, the pads can be glued together with a little moisture, eliminating the need for additional adhesive.
Charles Poisson, Director Group Sustainability and R&D Molding Europe at Storopack, emphasised the combination of sustainability and easy handling:
„Our aim is to offer protective packaging that is environmentally friendly and at the same time makes everyday packaging easier for our customers.“
Renature Wrap is now available in Germany, with a planned launch in other countries.
