Ball Corporation acquires a stake in Meadow, a Swedish packaging technology company specialising in the development of circular solutions. The partnership includes the production of recyclable aluminium cans as pre-filled cartridges for personal care and household products.
The delivery of the Tins and lids for the reusable dispensers by Ball will take place as soon as Meadow has commenced operations. The Swedish company's packaging solutions use recyclable aluminium cans, which are currently used primarily for drinks but also in other product categories.
The Meadow Kapsul technology is probably 2025 introduced in the shops. The solution is simple: a can, which serves as a cartridge and is filled with products such as soap or shampoo, is inserted into a reusable dispenser. Through the use of prefill solutions the company is reducing material and energy consumption while optimising logistics and transport.
„With Ball, we can offer our reusable packaging solution globally and expand the availability of cost-efficient, user-friendly and recyclable prefill technology. Together, we are accelerating the adoption of circular packaging by global consumer goods brands across multiple categories.“
Victor Ljungberg, CEO of Meadow
