The aluminium-free packaging material Combibloc Ecoplus from SIG is now also available for the CombiblocMidi format. This gives dairy companies the option of choosing a pack with a square base that meets the demand for more sustainable packaging.

Aluminium-free packaging material for aseptic carton packaging

Combibloc Ecoplus was founded in 2010 as First aluminium-free packaging material for aseptic carton packs onto the market. This innovative solution further improves the positive environmental balance of aseptic carton packs. It consists of 82 per cent raw cardboard from renewable raw material wood and ultra-thin polymer layers that protect the products over long periods of time.

Initially available in the rectangular 1-litre format, Combibloc Ecoplus is well established in the long-life milk segment. More than one billion SIG packs have already been sold with the aluminium-free packaging material, as customers have opted for the Growing global demand for low-carbon, sustainable packaging solutions.

Market launch of a second format

SIG is now expanding its range of aluminium-free packs with a second format. CombiblocMidi is the fastest growing modern family pack from SIG. The square format is becoming increasingly popular, particularly in the long-life dairy products sector. With this option, customers can now differentiate their products.

The first products in aluminium-free CombiblocMidi packs will be available in Spain, filled by Leche Celta.
